share your wisdom
like rivers share water—
not hoarded in jars,
not shouted over walls,
but flowing,
carving quiet paths
through the soil of others’ minds.
speak what you have learned
from the bruises and the sunlight,
from the nights that would not end,
from the hands you held and the hands you let go.
do not fear that it will be wasted—
even a single drop can grow a garden,
even a single word can find a home
in a heart that was ready to listen.
tell your stories
with patience,
with the tremble of truth,
with the laughter that survived
all your broken pieces.
for wisdom is not a crown to wear,
it is a candle to pass—
and in the passing,
it lights more than your own path.
Thank-you for reading.
Remember there are many paths back to God.

Lovely purposeful poetry, Brenda!
Thank-you so much
You’re welcome, Brenda. 😍
This is absolutely breathtaking. The poem’s central metaphor—wisdom as water, not as a possession but as a shared, life-giving flow—is so beautifully sustained and powerful. It moves from the quiet, humble offering of truth, to the courage required to share our scars and sunlight, and finally to the image of light passed like a candle. It gently dismantles the ego of “knowing” and replaces it with the grace of giving. A truly profound and generous piece of writing. Thank you for sharing this gift, Brenda.
