Poem: Wisdom of the Heart

The mind may chase the winding road,
With maps and charts and heavy load.
It reasons, plans, and seeks to know
The way that life might choose to go.

But the heart speaks soft, a quiet flame,
No need for logic, no claim to fame.
It knows the rhythm, the pulse, the beat,
Where joy and sorrow, shadow and heat,
Entwine in lessons we can’t foresee,
Yet shape the soul so tenderly.

It whispers truths we cannot buy,
Beyond the reach of sight or eye.
Compassion, patience, gentle art—
These are the wisdoms of the heart.

So listen close when silence falls,
When worldly noise and chatter calls.
The mind may wander, the world may part,
But nothing guides like the heart’s own chart.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie

  1. This is truly beautiful, Brenda. You’ve captured the eternal dance between mind and heart with such gentle grace and clarity. The imagery of the “winding road” of the mind versus the “quiet flame” of the heart is so powerful and resonant. It’s a wonderful reminder, wrapped in lyrical wisdom, to trust the deeper, quieter voice within. Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt piece.🌷🤝

    1. Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. I’m deeply touched that the imagery resonated with you, and that you felt the dialogue between mind and heart so clearly. Your reflection on trusting the quieter voice means a great deal to me—that’s exactly the space the piece was written from. I truly appreciate you taking the time to engage with it so meaningfully. 🌷
