Rebel Angel is the only thing I have ever written with someone else. It was written 21 years ago. Rebel Angel was written with Mike Dase. My husband’s best friend. This became the lyric for one of their original songs.
Rebel Angel
Rebel Angel, you wanted to be free.
What were you thinking of?
It’s not because you wanted to be free.
You saw the power and the glory of Christ.
You wanted it all for yourself.
You couldn’t stand seeing it in another man’s hands.
You came up with a plan.
You started a civil war among the most peaceful and the free.
Rebel Angel, what have you done?
You had to have things your way.
So you made the blood of the other angels pour.
Of the many things you have done, going against God,
was the one thing you couldn’t win.
You were told your odds, yet you still had to try.
God cast you out with all of your rebel friends.
He gave to you a new world for you to rule.
Little did he know, what you really started was an endless battle,
to control all the souls, souls that must be taken, by either Heaven or Hell.
