Writing Through the Soul: Living Out My Dream
Hi guys,
I hope everyone is having a great day. If you have been reading this blog, you know my dream since I was a little girl has been to be a writer. Well, I have always been a writer. I mean a published writer. It’s taken me some time, but I have done it. My poetry book writing through the soul, was a labor of love.
I learned a lot writing this book. I learned it’s not easy to self-publishing a book. I was very proud of the book when I first finished it. But, I soon learned that I needed to do a lot more work on it. There is a lot more to writing a book than just writing the book.

I ended up publishing a few dream journals. I love them and I do use them to keep track of my dreams and meditations. They are all the same on the inside the covers are just different. Different people have different tastes so I tried a few different covers.
.
This is the one I use all the time. That is my dog Fred on the cover. You can get the dream journals in soft and hard cover. I prefer hard cover, because I keep all my dream journals.

My second book was going to be another book of poetry. I decided to let someone else publish the book. It will never be released because I paid to have it published and I still have not heard anything.

I am one to never give up. I just moved forward. I started working on a book Called “Inspiration From Heaven”. It was going to be about my beloved grandfather.
Writing Through the Soul: Big changes in the Dream

It took me four years and a lot of research, but I finally redid “Writing Through the Soul”. Thank-you to all my fellow writers out there who helped me with the research, on how to self-publish my book. A very special thank-you has to go out to Colleen M. Chesebro and her blog Unicorn Cat Publishing. Unicorn Cat publishing is packed with information and resources for publishing your book.
Now I moved on to “Inspiration From Heaven”. It turns out the book is a lot more than just about my grandfather. It’s is filled with poetry and short stories inspired by the ones I have lost over the years.

“Inspiration From Heaven” is still a work in progress. There are still a few more stories I wish to add to it. What cover do you all like better? I was working on “Insperation From Heaven” when I found something that put a big hold on my writing “Insperation From Heaven”.
I was cleaning out my house when I came across an old dirty, moldy huge envelope. I almost throw it away. I thought whatever it was, was ruined. I am so happy I decided, to open it and see what was inside..

It turns out the envelope was from Heaven. It was beloved grandfather. Now, you all know, he supported my writing, but little did I know just how much. I was about to find out as I read through the contents of the envelope.
The envelope was filled with short stories. Short stories that my grandfather loved. They were all written by his favorite author. He had typed them up. I am crying as I write this, by the way. I have had to stop and come back many times.
As I read the first story a memory popped into my head. I was at my grandparent’s house. It was just after my grandfather’s funeral. I had asked, my grandmother if she knew, where my stories were that pop had kept. I would like to have them. She had no idea where they were. We looked all over the house. We never did find them. It just so happens that the envelope was in this very old suitcase.
She must have found them and put them in there. I never saw it or remember the envelope being there before. I know, I have used this suitcase after that, but I never saw this envelope until the other day.

When I was a young girl, I spent much of my time with my grandfather. We loved to exchange stories. I would read him some I had composed and he would tell me, ancient mythologies. My grandfather was my first and biggest fan. After finding the Magic envelope, I discovered he was much more than just a fan. My grandfather was my editor, and co-author as well.
A Friend of mine Jeanine Bryers suggested I publish the stories in a book. I plan on doing just that. I had posted a few of them here before, I talk to Jeanine.
The Hidden Relam of Stonehenge
Although there aren’t that many stories in the envelope. There are enough for a book. It is the next book I will be releasing. I pretty much dropped everything and started working on this book.

My grandfather always called me Sunshine, that is where the title comes from. My grandfather is co-author of this book. I feel it must be published. I came to me at the perfect time. This book really is me writing through the soul.
Much love and light,
Brenda Marie

You are an amazing writer Brenda and I know your grandfather is looking down beaming over you!
Thank-you so much Martha
This is such a beautiful story about your grandfather’s support of your writing. It reminds us how important we can each be in the lives of the young ones around us.
You asked about which cover we liked better – but I’m not sure which ones we are meant to choose between.
I did notice there is a typo (an extra space between M and o, in the word More) in the title of the last cover. Other than that I love the title and the cover looks great. :)) xoxo
Thank-you Lia.
Amazing! It is such an accomplishment to sel-publish one book — as I am finding out right now — but to publish several? You are achieving your dreams and I am so sure your grandfather is absolutely thrilled by what you are doing!
I am sure he is too. Thank-you very much
You know what? Not only can YOU be super proud of yourself, I am sure, your Granddad is as well. Way to fulfill your dreams!
I am and I do know he is
I am so excited that you are making your dream come true! And the way you found those stories is so beautiful. As I told you, I believe God or the universe moved them, so you’d find them. And i cannot wait to read that book.
Thank-you so much. For me because of my believing he is my guardian angel I believe my grandfather, but them there because he is always watching over me and it seemed like the right moment for me to find them.
Looks like you have come a long way on your journey. Best of luck on your writings! Sending lots of love.
Yes, I have, thank-you so much.
