Can you hear me, in the stillness of the night?
In between the whispers of the wind, can you feel my voice take flight?
I reach out to you, in the depths of your dreams,
Hoping that my words will break through, like sunbeams.
In every word I write, in every verse I compose,
I strive to bridge the gap, between us heaven knows.
Through the rhythm of these lines, I send my plea,
Will you listen to my heart, and come back to me?
Can you hear me, when the world is loud and demanding?
When chaos fills your thoughts, and you’re left standing,
I shout into the void, praying it reaches your ears,
Wishing that my voice can chase away your fears.
With every syllable I utter, with every breath I take,
I pour my soul into these words, for your sake.
Through every pause and every rhyme, I beg and plead,
Can you truly hear me, and set my spirit free?
Can you hear me, when the days turn into weeks?
When life swirls around you, in countless streaks?
I sing my sorrows, and paint my hopes in ink,
Hoping against hope that you won’t let our love sink.
In the echoes of these verses, I speak your name,
In the silence of my longing, I’m never the same.
My voice may tremble, my words may falter,
But my love for you, it will always alter.
Can you hear me, through the distance between our souls?
Through the years that have passed, taking their toll?
I write these words, to remind you of a love profound,
A love that knows no bounds, no end to be found.
So, please, my love, listen closely, can you hear?
In every word, in every line, I long to draw you near.
For amidst this vast universe, where we may be,
Can you hear me, my love? Can you still hear my plea?
Thank-you for reading.
Much love and light,
Brenda Marie
