Poem: Burning Fires of Frustration

In the depths of my soul, a fire burns hot,
A fierce flame fueled by frustration’s distraught.
It rages and licks at the walls of my mind,
A relentless inferno, unyielding, unkind.

Its tendrils of anger entangle my thoughts,
Twisting and turning like knotted, frayed knots.
It dances and flickers, a malevolent force,
Leaving no place for solace, no stable recourse.

The embers of disappointment smolder and glow,
As the flames rise higher, my patience wears low.
Every setback ignites a new rage within,
Each obstacle pushing me closer to sin.

The crackle of fury fills the air like a storm,
As the heat of frustration consumes every form.
It devours my patience, leaving ashes in its wake,
Scorching my spirit with no mercy to take.

But in the midst of the flames, a flicker of hope,
A glimmer of light from a forgotten scope.
For within me exists a calm, cooling balm,
That can soothe the inferno, bring peace and be calm.

I breathe deep and steady, finding my core,
Tapping into the strength that lies at my core.
With each breath that I take, the fire starts to wane,
Diminishing slowly, no longer a bane.

And as the flames subside, I rise from the fray,
With a newfound resilience, a stronger display.
For the burning fires of frustration may flare,
But with perseverance and grace, I will repair.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie

  1. I love how the poem starts out painting fire with negative energy but then you point out light and hope, before it subsides.
