Poem: Tired Eyes, Heavy Heart

I’m tired of the same old race,

Running in circles, no finish line in place.
The days blur together, a relentless grind,
Searching for peace, but it’s so hard to find.

The weight of the world, it’s dragging me down,
Every smile feels like a painted-on frown.
Promises made, but none to keep,
I’m wide awake in a world that sleeps.

Dreams once bright, now fade to grey,
In the silence of night, they drift away.
What’s the point of this endless chase,
When hope itself has lost its face?

The sun may rise, but it’s lost its glow,
In the shadows of doubt, I walk so slow.
Fed up with the noise, the lies, the pain,
Yearning for freedom from life’s cruel chain.

But deep within, a whisper calls,
Beyond these dark and endless walls.
“Hold on,” it says, “for storms do pass,
And in the end, you’ll find your path.”

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
