Poem: Waiting

In the quiet hush before the dawn,
When dreams still linger, softly drawn,
The world is wrapped in a gentle sigh,
And time itself seems to drift by.

I sit upon the edge of night,
Where shadows waltz in silver light,
And every second, slow and clear,
Is a heartbeat felt, a whispered year.

The clock ticks on, a steady pulse,
Each moment’s weight, a tender waltz,
In the space where hope and patience meet,
I find my heart’s own quiet beat.

Through windows wide, the stars unfold,
Their stories old, their light so bold,
And I, in waiting, find a grace,
In the silent spaces, time’s embrace.

For in the pause, where life holds still,
I touch the depths of hope’s own will,
And learn that waiting, though it seems
A hollow echo, holds its dreams.

So I’ll wait here with an open heart,
Embracing each moment, a work of art,
For in the stillness, there’s a song,
That guides me gently all along.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
