Poem: Healing the Inner Child

In a quiet corner, where shadows play,
A child still lingers, yearning to stay.
With laughter woven in whispers of dreams,
They dance through the sunlight, or so it seems.

Oh, little one, with your eyes so wide,
You’ve felt the world’s weight, the tears that you hide.
Let’s take a moment, let’s pause and unwind,
In the gentle embrace of love, you will find.

We’ll gather the colors of joy once bright,
Paint the gray skies with hope and with light.
Each scar tells a story, a lesson to learn,
But your heart is a beacon, watch how it burns.

Let’s build a safe haven, where fears can take flight,
Where your dreams take the shape of the stars in the night.
We’ll sing songs of courage, of strength yet untold,
And wrap you in warmth like a blanket of gold.

Remember the magic that danced in your soul,
The wonder of moments that made you feel whole.
You are still worthy of laughter and play,
Let’s nurture your spirit, come what may.

So take my hand, let’s walk side by side,
Through fields of forgiveness, where love can abide.
Together we’ll heal, together we’ll grow,
Dear inner child, it’s time to let go.

In the garden of memories, we’ll plant seeds anew,
Water them gently with kindness and truth.
You’re never alone, for I’ll always be here,
To cherish the child, and to hold you near.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
