Poem: Embrace of the Dark

In shadows deep, where light dare not tread,
I find the parts of me I’ve always led
To hide, to bury, to keep locked away—
Yet in the dark, they come alive and sway.

A dance of mystery, a waltz of grace,
In every corner of my hidden space.
The dark, a mirror, reflecting what’s true,
The parts of me I never knew I knew.

Here, where the silence speaks in whispered song,
I learn to love what felt so dark, so wrong.
For in the night, there’s peace without pretense,
A freedom born of quiet recompense.

The rage, the hurt, the doubts, they all belong,
Not flaws to fear, but notes in a song.
In this abyss, I find no shame, no sin—
Only the chance to finally begin.

To embrace the chaos, the rage, the tears,
The parts of me that echo through the years—
And love them as they are, and let them be,
For they are the darkness that sets me free.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
