They marched through storm and whispered fear,
With hearts of fire, yet shedding tears,
For freedom’s light, they took the stand,
With courage fierce, they gripped the land.
Through battles fierce, and nights so long,
They sang the anthem, proud and strong,
Their sacrifice, a timeless plea,
To gift the world its liberty.
In fields of blood, on shores of sand,
They fought as one, a noble band,
For us, they gave what none could take—
Their dreams, their lives, their hearts would break.
Yet in their wake, we find our peace,
A world where voices never cease,
To speak of those whose strength did rise,
And soared beyond the darkest skies.
So let us stand, with heads held high,
And honor those who touched the sky,
For freedom’s cost was paid by few,
And we are free because of you.
Forevermore, your names will be,
A guiding star for all to see,
In every heart, your legacy,
The price of freedom—sacred, free.
Happy Veterans’s Day!
Thank-you for reading.
Much Love and Light,
