Poem: Lost in Time

Lost in Time

I am a leaf adrift on streams,
A shadow caught between the seams,
Of hours past and days ahead,
A fleeting thought, a dream unsaid.

The hands of clocks continue on,
Yet I stand still, the moments gone,
The world spins forward, bright and loud,
While I am lost beneath the cloud.

The days I held, now slip away,
Like grains of sand that cannot stay,
I reach for them, but they slip through,
Like echoes fading from my view.

The past, a haze I cannot touch,
The future pulls, but not so much,
And here I stand, just watching time,
A heart unsure, a mind in rhyme.

I search for meaning in the space,
Between each moment, in the place,
Where yesterday and tomorrow meet,
Yet still, I feel the pulse retreat.

For I am lost, yet not alone,
Time’s current carries me, unknown.
I may not know where I have been,
But in this moment, I am within.

The past is gone, the future waits,
But here and now, the silence speaks,
And in its voice, I find my way,
Not lost in time, but here today.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
