Poem: Barking and Can’t Shut Up

Barking and Can’t Shut Up

I’m barking loud, I can’t hold back,
A noisy echo, a thunderous crack.
My voice is wild, it won’t be still,
Like winds that howl or storms that chill.

I try to hush, but words break free,
Like a restless wave, too wild to be.
The world’s too big, it’s far too wide,
And I just can’t seem to quiet this tide.

I bark at shadows, I bark at the light,
I bark at dawn and bark at night.
It’s like a fire that won’t go out,
A constant roar, a constant shout.

I can’t seem to stop, can’t find the switch,
I’m a symphony of barking, in a constant glitch.
But maybe one day, the noise will fade,
And I’ll find peace, in the silence I’ve made.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
