The flowers bloom, then fade from sight,
Day surrenders into night.
The laughter echoes, then it’s gone—
A fleeting note, a passing song.
The tide that kisses sand and shore
Retreats, returns, then comes no more.
Even the stars, though cold and bright,
Will vanish in the endless night.
We hold so tight to what we know—
A glance, a hand, a golden glow.
But time, relentless, softly steals
The edges of the things we feel.
A lover’s vow, a childhood street,
The thrill of youth beneath our feet—
They shift like smoke, they slip like rain,
Yet, leave behind a sweet, dull pain.
And still we love, and still we try,
Though every hello means a goodbye.
For beauty lives where moments pass—
In knowing nothing ever lasts.
Thank-you for reading.
Much Love and Light,
Brenda Marie
