Poem: Lost in the Sand of Time

I wandered through the desert wide,
Where echoes sleep and secrets hide.
The sky was mute, the wind ran dry,
And all I heard—a distant cry.

Beneath my feet, the ages lay,
In grains that slipped my grasp each day.
A name, a face, a fleeting voice,
All swallowed by the silence’ choice.

Once towers stood where dunes now roll,
Once hearts beat strong with burning soul.
But time, that thief with patient hands,
Drew all to dust, erased their plans.

I searched for paths once carved in stone,
Now worn away, now overgrown.
A letter lost, a ring, a rhyme—
Just fragments left of love and time.

How fragile are the marks we make,
How easily the echoes break.
And yet I kneel, and draw a line—
A vow to live, not just resign.

For though we fade, and stories bend,
We shape the winds before the end.
And even lost, we still can shine—
A spark within the sand of time.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
