I was lost in a silence too heavy to name,
A soul made of ashes, a heart wrapped in flame.
The days blurred like smoke, the nights held me tight,
Till you came like a whisper, like the hush before light.
You didn’t wear wings or shimmer with gold,
You came wrapped in kindness, quiet and bold.
No trumpet, no thunder, no heavenly cry—
Just a gaze that said, “You don’t have to die.”
You spoke not in sermons but steady, warm hands,
Lifting the weight I could no longer stand.
You listened when all I could do was fall still,
And reminded me gently: there’s beauty in will.
When the world closed in, like a dark, endless sea,
You stood like a lighthouse and waited for me.
You saw what was hidden, the bruises, the scars,
And called them by name like you knew where they are.
Not savior in shining, but savior in grace,
The one who showed light in the darkest of place.
You saved me with presence, with silence, with care—
An angel who found me and chose to be there.
Now if I should falter, I know where to turn:
To the love you ignited, to the strength I now learn.
Not all angels fly—some walk and just see
The shattered in others, then help them be free.
Thank-you for reading.
Many blessings to all.
Much love and light,
Brenda Marie
