Poem: What Lights You Up

What Lights You Up?

What lights you up? That quiet flame,
That sparks to life when you hear your name
In a voice that knows your truest sound—
Not loud, not lost, but deeply found.

Is it the hush of early skies,
When morning cracks with soft sunrise?
The page untouched, the brush untried,
The fearless hope not yet denied?

Is it the hum of a well-played tune,
A song that mends what broke too soon?
The laughter shared, a simple grace,
A memory lit in a loved one’s face?

Maybe it’s risk, the wild unknown,
Where dreams walk far from comfort’s zone.
The leap, the fall, the rise anew,
The fire that says: This—all for you.

What lights you up might shift, might change,
As years rearrange the inner range.
But when it comes, you’ll feel it burn—
A pull that sings: It’s your turn.

So follow it, that honest glow,
Wherever it dares you to go.
For what lights you up, lights the way—
Through darkest night, into your day.

Thank-you for reading.

Many blessings to all.

Much love and light,

Brenda Marie
