When voices rise like bitter wind,
And shadows press with weight within,
Stand tall upon your quiet ground—
Don’t let them break you down.
When doubt wraps cold around your chest,
And lies parade as truth, well-dressed,
Cling to the fire that you have found—
Don’t let them break you down.
They’ll scoff, they’ll sneer, they’ll twist your name,
Try to reduce you to a flame
That flickers weak, not bold, unbound—
But don’t let them break you down.
You are the storm, the stone, the sky.
You are the reason, the reason why
Some hearts still fight, some still resound—
So don’t let them break you down.
Let them speak, and let them doubt.
You know what strength is all about.
Your spirit’s voice is clear, profound—
And they won’t break you down.
Thank-you for reading.
Much love and Light,
Brenda Marie Fluharty
