Poem: Healing the Roots

I once stood shaky, wind-adrift,
A tree with roots too weak to lift
The weight of all I’d tried to be—
But now the ground remembers me.

Where once was fear, a hollow drum,
Now pulses red, the primal hum.
The earth beneath, so deep, so wide,
Draws breath with me, walks by my side.

I let go rage, I loosed the cry
That echoed through my childhood sky.
The guilt, the grief, the ancient scars—
I offered them to the moon and stars.

And in return, the soil replied
With stillness that cannot be denied.
It cradled me with roots and stone,
And whispered: Child, you’re never alone.

My spine aligns, my feet grow bold,
I walk in balance, firm and whole.
Each step, a vow to stand and stay—
My life, my right, my sacred way.

Now I am anchored, safe, complete,
From crown to toe, from heart to feet.
The root is healed; I rise, I grow—
A mountain soul with fire below.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
