Poem: Heart Lost in Darkness

A heart once bright, now fades to black,
No guiding light to lead it back.
It wandered far through silent skies,
With hope extinguished in its eyes.

The stars that sang have lost their tune,
The nights grow colder without the moon.
And every beat, a hollow sound,
In shadowed depths where none are found.

It cried for help, but none could hear,
Its voice too faint, consumed by fear.
It reached for hands that never stayed,
For love that flickered, then betrayed.

Now silence is its only friend,
A winding path that has no end.
It drifts through sorrow, numb and slow,
Not sure what’s real or what it knows.

But even hearts that break and bleed
Still, carry seeds of what they need.
And maybe in that blackest place,
Will bloom again—one thread of grace.

For darkness is not death, but sleep—
A pause, a wound, a place to weep.
And hearts, though lost, can still be found—
If not in light, then deeper ground.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie

  1. This poem beautifully captures the journey of a broken heart through despair, loneliness, and the faint glimmer of hope that remains. The imagery of fading light, silent skies, and hollow echoes conveys deep sorrow, yet the closing lines offer a quiet redemption—suggesting that even in darkness, healing and renewal are possible. A moving reflection on pain and resilience. Beautiful poem Brenda 🌷🤝
