Don’t dim my light to soothe your shade,
I wasn’t born to shrink or fade.
My flame was forged in storms and fire,
Each spark a breath, each breath desire.
Don’t clip my wings to ease your fall,
I’ve earned the sky, I’ve scaled the wall.
The stars don’t ask permission to shine,
And neither will this light of mine.
Don’t hush my voice to calm your fear,
I speak with truth you need to hear.
This light I bear is not for show—
It’s how I heal, it’s how I grow.
If I am bright, then so are you,
The sun makes space for every hue.
So rise with me, or walk aside,
But don’t snuff out what burns inside.
For I will blaze through darkest night—
No, you won’t dim my sacred light.

I love these lines, Brenda Marie!
“But don’t snuff out what burns inside.
For I will blaze through darkest night—
No, you won’t dim my sacred light.”
Snuff is a great word, isn’t it? I mean it really conveys here!
Thank-you so much. Yes, it does!!
