Poem: Give Me Grace

When I am frayed at every seam,
And life unravels every dream,
When right feels wrong, and light feels far—
Give me grace, not who you think I are.

When words escape in bitter tone,
And I would rather stand alone,
When kindness hides behind my fear—
Give me grace to draw me near.

Not for perfection I implore,
But space to fail, and try once more.
A hand that steadies, not that shames,
A voice that calls me by my name.

Give me grace when I forget
That I am more than my regret.
When I am weary, worn, and slow,
Let gentleness be all you show.

Not pity’s cloak, nor hollow cheer,
But truth that stays, and love that’s clear.
The kind of grace that doesn’t flee—
The kind that God first gave to me.

And when you fall, as all hearts do,
May I give that same grace to you.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie

  1. This poem is a tender plea for unconditional compassion—the kind that meets brokenness with patience, not judgment. It beautifully captures the human need for grace that doesn’t demand perfection but offers steadfast love instead. The closing lines, with their promise of reciprocity, remind us that mercy is both a gift and a cycle. A heartfelt meditation on how kindness heals Brenda ! 🌷🤝
