Poem: Always Use Discernment

Not every light was made to guide,
Some shine to blind, some burn with pride.
Not every voice that calls your name
Speaks truth beneath its polished frame.

A silver tongue can twist the truth,
Wrap lies in lace and dress as proof.
So guard your heart, but not with stone—
Just know which seeds are truly sown.

Discernment isn’t cold or cruel,
It doesn’t break—it bends the rule
That says to trust with eyes closed tight;
It teaches you to see with light.

To feel the pull, but pause, not leap,
To know which truths are yours to keep.
To walk away when smiles seem sweet,
But something trembles in your feet.

This world is loud with masks and games,
With borrowed dreams and stolen names—
But deep inside, a compass glows,
It only points where wisdom goes.

So listen close, and look within,
Not every loss is not a win.
And not all open doors are right—
Some only lead away from light.

Always use discernment, friend,
It guards the soul, it helps you mend.
And when you know what you must do,
The quiet truth will carry you.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
