Adrift, alone, the sky gone black,
No stars to guide, no turning back.
The waves rise up like silent screams,
And drown the edges of my dreams.
The salt has carved beneath my skin,
Each wound a whisper deep within.
I reach for light, but all I find
Are echoes of a fractured mind.
The currents pull where hope can’t go,
To depths where only shadows grow.
No shoreline waits, no hand, no name—
Just tides that carry grief and blame.
I scream, but silence takes the sound,
And buries it beneath the ground
Of all the things I should have said,
Now floating with the long-lost dead.
My heart’s a boat with broken oars,
That crashes on unseen, jagged shores.
No map, no stars, no wind remains—
Just me, alone, in seas of pain.
Yet somewhere deep beneath the tide,
A part of me has not yet died.
It flickers faint—a stubborn spark—
Still fighting in the endless dark.
Thank-you for reading.

This is a hauntingly beautiful poem—full of raw emotion and vivid imagery. The despair is palpable, yet that flicker of resilience in the final lines shines through like a defiant ember. Stunning work Brenda 🌷🤝
