Guided Meditation: Clearing Poverty Wounds in the Family Line

Duration: 30–45 minutes (depending on pacing)
Recommended: Find a quiet space, wear comfortable clothing, and sit or lie down with your spine supported. You may want a journal nearby for after.

Opening and Grounding (5 minutes)

Begin by finding a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes gently.
Let your hands rest on your heart or your belly, wherever feels most nurturing.

Take a deep breath in through your nose
Hold it for a moment…
And exhale slowly through your mouth.
Let go.

Do this three more times, allowing your body to soften with each breath.

Now, feel the weight of your body grounding into the earth.
Imagine roots growing from the base of your spine and the soles of your feet, extending down into the soil… deeper and deeper… until they reach the nourishing core of the Earth.

Breathe into this connection.

Say silently or out loud:
“I am safe. I am supported. I am grounded.”

Calling in Support (3 minutes)

Now, bring your awareness to the space around you.
Call in your higher self, your spiritual guides, loving ancestors, or any divine presence you trust.

Feel their presence gathering around you in a circle of protection and love.
You are held. You are not alone in this healing.

Say silently or aloud:
“I invite in all benevolent ancestors and healing guides to assist me in clearing poverty wounds from my family line. May this be done with grace, love, and truth.”

Connecting with the Family Line (5 minutes)

Visualize yourself standing in a long corridor. On either side are doors — each one represents a generation in your family line.

Turn to face behind you.
Behind you are your parents, your grandparents, great-grandparents, and countless generations before them.
You may not know their names, but their energy flows through your veins.
Some faced hardship. Some carried fear. Some made sacrifices.
And now, you are here — the one choosing to heal.

Breathe into this truth.

Say:
“I honor you. I see your struggle. I feel your strength. And I now choose to transform the patterns of scarcity and lack.”

Witnessing the Wounds (7 minutes)

Bring to mind the energy of poverty — as it has appeared in your life and the lives of your ancestors.

How has it shown up?
— Struggles with money
— Fear of not having enough
— Guilt for wanting more
— Beliefs that wealth is shameful or unattainable
— Sacrificing needs to survive
— Feelings of unworthiness

Let images, memories, sensations arise.

Where do you feel this energy in your body?
Place your hand there. Breathe into it.

Now, imagine a stream of golden light descending from above, gently flowing into that area.
It begins to soften the tension, dissolve the old stories, and infuse your body with warmth, peace, and safety.

Say:
“I witness these wounds with compassion. They are not mine to carry anymore.”

Ancestral Clearing and Release (10–15 minutes)

Visualize all your ancestors who experienced poverty standing behind you — hundreds, perhaps thousands.
Some hold empty bowls. Some look tired. Others are crying. Some simply look away, ashamed.

Look at them with love.

Say:
“You did not fail. You endured. And that was enough. I thank you. I honor your survival.”

Now, visualize a great fire appearing in front of you — a sacred ancestral fire.

You invite your ancestors to step forward and place their poverty burdens into the fire:
— Their fear
— Their shame
— Their struggle
— Their limiting beliefs
— Their unmet needs

Watch as one by one, they come forward.
Watch as the fire consumes what they no longer need.
The flames do not harm — they transmute.

You may wish to say:
“I release this pain from our family line. I free you. I free myself. We are no longer bound by scarcity.”

Let the fire burn brightly, warming your heart.
Feel its light ripple back through the generations, clearing and cleansing.

Rewriting the Story (5–7 minutes)

Now, imagine in your hands a glowing book of life — the story of your family.
Pages that once held poverty, lack, and fear are now blank, ready to be rewritten.

What new story do you write?
— One of abundance
— Of ease
— Of self-worth
— Of joy in receiving
— Of generosity and flow

Visualize writing these new beliefs into the book:
“We are worthy of abundance.”
“We are safe to receive.”
“We thrive.”
“We are free.”

Now see the energy of this rewritten story flowing back through your ancestors.
They stand taller. Their eyes shine. Some are smiling, laughing, dancing.

You have shifted the timeline.

Returning to Self (3 minutes)

Bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel the space you’ve cleared.
Feel the energy that now lives where fear once did.

Rest your hands over your heart or solar plexus.

Say:
“I carry forward the wisdom, not the wounds.
I am the abundance my ancestors prayed for.
I am free. And so it is.”

Take three deep breaths.
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
When you’re ready, gently open your eyes.

Integration (Optional)

Take a few moments to journal:

  • What did you see or feel?

  • What came up from your family line?

  • What new beliefs are you choosing moving forward?

Drink water. Move your body. Nourish yourself.

Closing Blessing

May your path be blessed with clarity, courage, and compassion.
May abundance flow freely to and through you.
May your healing echo through time — backward and forward — across all generations.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
