Poem: Follow Your Heart

When silence falls and roads divide,
And no clear path is shown,
Let not the noise of others’ maps
Drown out your soul’s own tone.

The stars may shift, the winds may turn,
The night may stretch so far—
But deep within, a compass beats
More true than northern star.

It whispers not in thunderclaps,
Nor shouts above the crowd,
But hums in quiet moments
When your thoughts aren’t speaking loud.

So follow not the well-worn trail,
Nor chase a fleeting spark—
But heed the steady rhythm
Rising softly from the dark.

For though the way be winding,
And fear may play its part,
You’ll never drift too far from home
When you follow your own heart.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie

  1. This is a beautiful and powerful poem about inner guidance and authenticity. It wisely advises that true direction comes not from external noise or well-trodden paths, but from listening to the quiet, steady compass within oneself. A lovely reminder to trust your own heart above all else.
