Poem: Sweet Paws

Sweet paws upon the morning floor,
Soft echoes that I can’t ignore.
You tiptoe close with gentle grace,
The dawn reflected in your face.

A quiet thump, a playful spin,
A wagging tail, a velvet chin.
No trumpet sounds, no grand applause—
Just love that walks on four sweet paws.

Your prints are pressed in muddy trails,
In garden beds and snowy veils.
But deeper still, they’ve left their mark
Inside the corners of my heart.

You never ask for much at all—
A scratch, a treat, a bouncing ball.
Yet what you give is something more—
A joy I’ve never felt before.

Through storms and sun, you stay the same,
With loyal heart and honest name.
No words, no lies, no need to speak—
Your soul is strong, your touch is meek.

And when the world feels sharp or loud,
You curl beside me, soft and proud.
A gentle weight, a steady heat,
A comfort curled around my feet.

Sweet paws, you are the quiet proof
That love can walk without a roof.
No finer gift could nature send
Than paws that lead me like a friend.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
