Poem: Happiness Is Being with You

Happiness is not a distant star,
Or treasure buried deep and far—
It’s in your laugh, your gentle touch,
The way you say you love me—much.

It’s morning light through window panes,
A walk together after rains,
The silence shared without a word,
And all the little things unheard.

It’s coffee sips and tangled sheets,
The rhythm of our steady beats,
A glance that says, I’m always here,
A whispered joke, a drying tear.

It’s knowing that I’m not alone,
That in your heart, I’ve found my home.
No need for grand or fleeting things—
You’re all the joy this moment brings.

So if they ask what makes life true,
I’ll smile and say, “Just being with you.”

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
