Poem: You Can Always Heal the Past

The past may linger, deep and wide,
A river carved by tears you’ve cried,
But time does not just wound or steal—
It brings the space and chance to heal.

The echoes of what once went wrong
May haunt you like a mournful song,
But songs can change, and so can you—
A softer verse, a brighter hue.

What’s broken isn’t lost for good,
A scar shows where the healing stood.
Regret can teach, and grief can guide
The seeds of peace we plant inside.

You can’t rewrite the lines once said,
But you can learn to walk ahead
With gentler steps, with clearer eyes,
And light that pours from cloudy skies.

Forgive yourself, forgive the pain—
Let kindness fall like summer rain.
Though you can’t change what came to be,
You can change what the past makes you see.

So take the weight, but let it go,
And watch how love begins to grow.
It’s never too late to make it last—
Yes, you can always heal the past.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
