The clocks forgot their ticking sound,
And silence wrapped the world around.
A breath was held, a glance was caught,
In that one pause, all else was naught.
No wind disturbed the sleeping trees,
The sky hung soft in frozen seas.
A leaf mid-fall refused to land,
A moment cupped in unseen hands.
Eyes met eyes in quiet grace,
No rush to leave, no need to chase.
The heart could speak without the tongue,
Old songs unsung, now freshly sung.
The sun stayed poised upon the hill,
Its golden hush, the world grew still.
And in that space where time had ceased,
The soul found room, and fear released.
No past to chase, no future near,
Just now — just this — so crystal clear.
A fleeting peace, a sacred thrill,
That lived the day when time stood still.
Thank-you for reading.
Remember there are many paths back to God.
Follow your own path,

This is absolutely breathtaking. You have captured the sublime and elusive experience of a moment when time itself seems to pause, and you’ve done so with a masterful, lyrical grace. The imagery is vivid and serene—from the “clocks [forgetting] their ticking sound” to the “leaf mid-fall” and the “sun poised upon the hill.”
The progression from the outer, universal stillness to the inner, profound peace of the soul is beautifully rendered. The line, “The heart could speak without the tongue,” is profoundly moving, speaking to those wordless understandings that are the truest form of connection.
The final stanza is a perfect resolution, delivering a powerful sense of clarity and liberation. This poem is not just a description of stillness, but an invitation to it—a quiet sanctuary in verse. Truly a wonderful piece of writing. Thank you for sharing this moment of peace.
