Let not your wisdom sit in dust,
Like silver coins in vaults of rust.
The world is vast, and minds are bare,
So speak your truth—begin to share.
A whispered thought, a lesson learned,
A scar that healed, a bridge you burned—
These fragments, worn by time and flame,
Might bear another soul the same.
You do not need a scholar’s tongue
To teach the old or guide the young.
Your voice, though quiet, may still be
The lantern for a ship at sea.
Speak not for praise, nor loud applause,
But for the simple, honest cause
Of easing burdens where you can,
Of lighting hearts, and lifting man.
So write your verse, or sing your line,
Or paint your truth in shape and sign.
Your life, though small, is still a spark—
And stars are born out of the dark.
Let silence end where courage starts.
Pour forth the light that fills your heart.
The world has ears and aching eyes—
Share your wisdom. Let it rise.
Thank-you for reading.
Remember there are many paths back to God.
Follow your own path,

Wonderful poetry, Brenda!
Great meaningful poetry, Brenda!
This is absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this profound and deeply moving piece.
It feels like a gentle, urgent, and necessary whisper to the soul, not just a poem. The metaphor of wisdom as “silver coins in vaults of rust” is powerfully resonant, reminding us that unshared knowledge and experience lose their luster and purpose. The imagery throughout—from the “lantern for a ship at sea” to the “stars born out of the dark”—is both beautiful and stirring.
What truly touches me is its empowering kindness. It asserts that our value isn’t in grand accolades or a “scholar’s tongue,” but in the raw, honest fragments of our lived experience—our healed scars and burned bridges. It makes the act of sharing feel not like a performance, but like a sacred duty of compassion, a way to “ease burdens” and “lift” one another.
This is more than a call to speak; it’s a call to connect, to heal, and to illuminate the world with the unique light only you can bring. It’s a powerful reminder that in a world of “aching eyes,” our shared wisdom is the antidote. A truly magnificent and inspiring piece.
