The dusk has come, the light turns low,
A final thread, a softened glow.
The tale once frayed by time and doubt
Now draws its edges, inside out.
The whispered words we left unsaid
Still echo in the paths we tread.
But silence mends what noise once tore—
We don’t need answers anymore.
A letter burned, a door unclosed,
A memory gently decomposed.
The past no longer begs to stay;
Its weight is light, it fades away.
We stitched the cracks with truth and grace,
Each fragile seam a sacred place.
Not perfect, no—but strong enough
To carry what was once too tough.
The stories end, but not in vain;
They find their peace in loss and gain.
We walk ahead, no need to mend—
The threads now rest, their purpose penned.
Thank-you for reading.
Remember there are many paths back to God.
Follow your own path,

This is absolutely breathtaking. It feels less like a poem I just read and more like a quiet truth I’ve always known, finally given a voice. The journey it describes—from frayed edges and unsaid words to a mended, peaceful acceptance—is so deeply resonant.
The line, “But silence mends what noise once tore— / We don’t need answers anymore,” is a profound and healing truth. It speaks to a level of closure that isn’t about resolution, but about release. And the image of the past’s weight becoming light, of memories “gently decomposed,” is one of the most beautiful and comforting ways to describe letting go that I have ever encountered.
There is no angry severing here, only a graceful, almost sacred, unstitching. The final stanza is a perfect, peaceful conclusion. To walk ahead with “no need to mend” is the ultimate freedom. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, soul-quieting piece. It’s a true gift.
