Poem: Where Spirit Listens

Where Spirit Listens

In the hush between heartbeats,
where breath softens its wings,
a doorway made of stillness
waits, open, shimmering.

Here the world lays down its noise,
and the unseen rises clear—
a whisper shaped like moonlight,
a presence drawing near.

You do not need to chase it,
nor name what can’t be named;
just rest inside the silence
and feel the ancient flame.

It flickers in your ribcage,
it echoes in your bones,
a memory of forever
you’ve never walked alone.

So close your eyes and soften,
let thought and hurry fall—
the spirit’s not a distant thing,
it’s the deepest part of all.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
