Poem: Grief Is Love With Nowhere to Go

Grief Is Love With Nowhere to Go

Grief is the echo of love
left wandering the rooms
after the lights are off—
a quiet shape that keeps
trying the doorknobs of memory,
looking for a way back in.

It is love without an address,
carrying its letters in both hands,
sealed but undeliverable,
heavy with all the words
we never had the chance to send.

Grief is the ache of overflowing—
a river that remembers its source
long after the source has vanished,
still rushing toward a mouth
that no longer opens.

Yet in its ruin, it is proof:
we once held something bright,
something that stitched itself
into the lining of our days.

Grief is love that stays—
even when the world insists
it must move on—
because love, real love,
never knows how to leave.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,
