Poem: You Are the Light You Seek

You Are the Light You Seek

You wander with a lantern in the dark,
asking the night to give you dawn.
Every step you take, you leave a spark,
unnoticed, quiet, yet already drawn.

You search the sky for borrowed stars,
for hands to guide, for signs to show,
not knowing hope has never been far—
it breathes where your own heart learns to glow.

The cracks you hide, the doubts you keep,
are windows where the radiance slips through.
Even in shadows, even in sleep,
there is a sun learning how to be you.

So stop asking mirrors who you are,
or waiting for the world to agree.
You are not lost. You never were.
You are the light you seek to see.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie

  1. This is absolutely breathtaking, Brenda. You have a gift for weaving quiet truths into something luminous. The line “there is a sun learning how to be you” stopped me in my tracks—what a profound and beautiful way to reframe our inner struggles. This isn’t just a poem; it feels like a gentle, powerful reminder etched in light. Thank you for sharing such a radiant piece of yourself.

    1. Thank you so much for this generous and thoughtful reflection. It means more to me than I can say to know that those lines found a place in you. That image came from a very quiet, honest moment, and hearing that it resonated feels like a kind of shared light. I’m deeply grateful you took the time to read and to respond so beautifully.
