Life is not a river.
It is the rain—
falling without asking
where it will land.
Some drops become oceans.
Some disappear into dust.
Neither was wrong.
Neither was less water.
We arrive with empty hands,
yet everyone expects us
to build kingdoms
from borrowed time.
We chase tomorrow
as if it owes us answers,
while today sits quietly
on the porch,
waiting to be noticed.
The years do not steal us.
They simply reveal
what could never survive
the passing of seasons.
Love is strange.
It teaches us
that the heart grows larger
each time it breaks,
because shattered things
learn how to hold light
between their cracks.
Pain is a language
spoken by every soul,
yet each of us believes
our accent is unique.
We fear endings,
not realizing
that every sunrise
is the sky mourning
the death of another night,
and every sunset
is the universe promising
to begin again.
Success is applause.
Peace is silence.
One fades
the moment the crowd leaves.
The other remains
when even your name
is forgotten.
Perhaps the purpose of living
was never to conquer the world,
but to become gentle enough
that the world
did not need conquering.
To laugh
while carrying invisible mountains.
To forgive
without forgetting your worth.
To plant trees
whose shade
will cool strangers
you will never meet.
And when the final breath
slips quietly into eternity,
may death not find us
with a list of possessions,
but with worn-out dreams,
scarred hands,
a forgiving heart,
and the quiet satisfaction
of someone
who truly lived.
Because in the end,
life does not ask
how long you remained.
It asks only this:
When you were given
a heartbeat
for a little while—
did you become
another echo…
or did you become
a song?
