Poem: Conversation with My Soul

My Soul,
where have you been?

I have been here,
waiting in the silence
between your thoughts,
breathing through your dreams,
calling your name
every time your heart forgot its own.

My Soul,
why did I lose my way?

You did not lose your way.
You wandered through shadows
to remember
that you were always carrying the light.

My Soul,
why did the world make me feel so small?

The world only measured
what could be seen.
I have always known
the part of you
that cannot be measured.

My Soul,
am I enough?

You were enough
before the first doubt
ever found your name.
You were enough
before fear borrowed your voice.
You were enough
the moment Love imagined you.

My Soul,
what do I do with my broken pieces?

Do not hide them.
Gather them gently,
like seashells after the tide.
The light has always loved
to enter through the places
you call broken.

My Soul,
why do I keep searching?

Because you forgot
that what you seek
has been searching for you too.

My Soul,
what is my purpose?

To love.
To awaken.
To remember.
To become so fully yourself
that others remember
who they are
simply by meeting you.

My Soul,
will I ever stop being afraid?

Perhaps not.
But one day
your love will become louder
than your fear,
and that will be enough.

My Soul,
how will I know you are speaking?

Not in thunder.
Not in noise.
But in the quiet certainty
that asks for no proof,
the peace that arrives
without permission,
the gentle knowing
that feels like coming home.

My Soul,
will you ever leave me?

How could I?
I am the sacred breath
inside your every breath.
I am the stillness
beneath every storm.
I am the spark
the Creator placed within you
before time learned your name.

So I grew quiet.

I laid my worries
at the feet of eternity.

I placed one trembling hand
upon my heart,

and there—

beneath the noise,

beneath the questions,

beneath the endless becoming—

I heard my Soul whisper,

“Remember.
You have never been lost.
You have only been learning
the way back to yourself.”

Thank-you for reding.
