What Is the God Spark? Remembering the Divine Light Within You
There comes a moment on the spiritual path when something within you begins to stir.
You may not have words for it at first.
You simply feel that there is more.
More to who you are.
More to why you are here.
More to this life than what you can see, touch, or explain.
You may begin questioning things you once accepted without thought. You may feel drawn toward healing, spirituality, intuition, or a deeper relationship with God. You may even feel as though something inside you is trying to wake you up.
That inner stirring may be the beginning of remembering your God Spark.
What Is the God Spark?
The God Spark is the divine essence within you—the sacred part of your being that remains connected to God, Source, Divine Intelligence, or whatever name feels true within your heart.
It is not something you have to earn.
It is not something reserved for people who are especially spiritual.
And it is not something outside of you that you must spend your life searching for.
The God Spark is already within you.
Think of it as a tiny flame of divine light carried within your soul.
Life experiences may cause you to forget that flame. Fear may cover it. Pain may make it difficult to feel. Other people’s expectations may teach you to look everywhere except within yourself.
But the flame itself has never disappeared.
It has been there all along.
Waiting for you to remember.
You Are More Than the Life You Have Lived
Most of us learn very early to identify ourselves through the outside world.
We learn our name.
Our family roles.
Our responsibilities.
Our successes.
Our mistakes.
Our relationships.
Our careers.
Our wounds.
Eventually, we can begin believing that these things are who we are.
But they are only pieces of the human experience.
Beneath all of them exists something deeper.
There is a part of you that existed before someone told you who you should be.
A part of you that recognizes truth before your mind can explain it.
A part of you that quietly whispers when something is right—or when something is no longer aligned with who you are becoming.
This deeper part of you is connected to your Higher Self.
And your God Spark is at the heart of that connection.
The God Spark and Your Higher Self
Your Higher Self can be understood as the wisest, most spiritually aware expression of you.
It sees beyond the fear of the present moment.
It is not controlled by the ego’s need to prove, compare, impress, or protect itself.
Instead, the Higher Self gently guides you toward truth, growth, compassion, purpose, and alignment.
You may experience that guidance through intuition.
A quiet knowing.
A sudden realization.
A feeling that you should—or should not—take a certain path.
A repeated inner message that refuses to disappear.
Sometimes the guidance is subtle.
That is why learning to become still can be such an important part of spiritual growth.
When the noise becomes quieter, you can begin hearing what has been whispering beneath it.
Spiritual Awakening Is Often a Remembering
We often describe spiritual awakening as though we are becoming someone completely new.
But perhaps awakening is not always about becoming.
Perhaps it is about remembering.
Remembering the sacredness that was there before the world became so loud.
Remembering that your worth was never dependent upon how much you accomplished.
Remembering that intuition is a language you can learn to trust.
Remembering that you are not spiritually empty and waiting for something outside yourself to complete you.
There is already light within you.
The journey is learning how to recognize it again.
How Do You Begin Connecting With Your God Spark?
You do not need an elaborate spiritual practice.
Begin simply.
Create moments of stillness.
Sit quietly and breathe.
Place your hand over your heart.
Journal without judging what comes through.
Spend time in nature.
Pay attention to the quiet inner nudges you normally dismiss.
Ask yourself:
What feels true for me beneath the fear?
What is my Higher Self trying to show me right now?
Where in my life am I being invited to grow?
What would change if I truly believed there was divine light within me?
Then give yourself permission not to force an answer.
Sometimes the deepest answers arrive slowly.
Your Light Was Never Lost
If you have felt disconnected from yourself, that does not mean your God Spark disappeared.
If you have made mistakes, your light is still there.
If you have gone through painful seasons, your light is still there.
If you have ignored your intuition a hundred times, your light is still there.
The spiritual journey is not about becoming perfect enough to deserve divine connection.
It is about becoming quiet enough, open enough, and willing enough to recognize the connection that has been within you all along.
Maybe something inside you has been calling you lately.
Maybe you have been questioning.
Searching.
Healing.
Changing.
Remembering.
If so, honor that stirring.
You do not have to understand the entire journey today.
You only have to become willing to listen.
Because the God Spark within you does not need to be created.
It needs to be remembered.
And perhaps your remembering has already begun.
Thank-you for reading.

What a beautiful and timely message, Brenda. Thank you for this gentle, heartfelt reminder that we are not broken or empty—just momentarily distracted from the light we already carry. Your words feel like a warm hand on the shoulder, offering permission to pause, breathe, and simply be. I love how you strip away the pressure to “fix” ourselves and instead invite us to listen. That line—”You do not have to understand the entire journey today. You only have to become willing to listen”—is going to stay with me for a long time. Grateful for your voice and your wisdom. 🙏✨
Thank-you so much
