Flash Fiction: Healing the Inner-child

Healing the Inner-child

Lost in the obscurity of your heart lies the lost child of youth. The kid who had dreams and the power to tell the world what they were. The child with the innocence to fight for everything he believed in and desired. In the child’s heart, burning with great flames, its true God spark.

Living in a world in which children have little power and adults govern the world. This child could not flower. Being told, children are seen and not heard. The child soon refused to speak because he wanted the love of adults and knew that trouble would come if they heard his words. The child was soon taught to renounce his desires. Adults were necessary for survival in this world. The child gave up his power, and his flame died, as he learned to survive in a dark world of shame.

This child ran and hid in the deepest, darkest part of your heart. The child sits waiting for you to come and reclaim your withering flame. Knowing that one day you’ll be old enough to come and get your desires and your power back. The child knows you will come and heal the pain and shame of the childhood trauma. It does not blame you for all you went through, it only waits for you to find it once again. Waiting for you to reclaim your God spark. Knowing you will find your way through the darkness of this world to heal all that they have shamed. This child is waiting for you to understand that you have the power to heal and change all the darkness in this world into  light once more.
