Poem: Lost in the Field of Darkness

In a field where shadows weave,
Where the moon forgets to rise,
I wander through the endless night,
Beneath a starless, silent sky.

The wind, a whisper of ancient fears,
Caresses my face with a chilling breath,
Each step I take is swallowed whole,
By the earth that knows no death.

No path to follow, no light to chase,
Just the echo of my heart’s despair,
I am lost in the void, a nameless soul,
In the darkness that does not care.

Yet somewhere far, a distant gleam,
A memory of a forgotten dream,
But here I stay, in the dark I rove,
Lost in the field where shadows seethe.

I search for dawn, but dawn is gone,
A phantom that the night consumes,
And so I wander, evermore,
In this field where darkness blooms.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
