Poem: Lost in Time

Beneath the whispers of the ancient sky,
Where echoes fade and memories lie,
I wander through a world unseen,
A shadow caught between what’s been.

The clock ticks on, but does it know
The paths of time, where they may go?
I reach for moments, slipping past,
Fading like the winds that last.

Forgotten faces, forgotten names,
Lost in the fire, lost in the flames.
The past is but a ghost, a sigh,
A dream that once was, now awry.

Through endless fields, I chase the sound,
Of footsteps lost upon the ground.
Each step a memory, each breath a prayer,
But all that’s left is empty air.

Time, a river swift and deep,
It takes and takes, it never sleeps.
I am the dust upon its shore,
Forever drifting, evermore.

So let me fade, like stars at dawn,
A fleeting thought before it’s gone.
For in the heart of time’s embrace,
We vanish with no trace, no trace.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
