Poem: Everything is Sacred

Everything is Sacred

Everything is sacred—
the hush between words,
the moth’s wing brushing a window
on its way to the moon.

The steam rising from your morning cup,
the fingerprints on glass,
the ache that reminds you
you once held something close.

Every breath—sacred.
Even the broken ones.
Especially those.

The cracked sidewalk
sprouting green defiance,
the echo of laughter
from another room,
a song that knows your name
before you speak it.

All of it—holy:
the silence,
the storm,
the slow return of light.

We were taught to look high
for the divine—
but it dwells in the dirt,
in the small, in the unseen,
in the grief that softens you,
in the joy that shakes you.

So tread gently.
Speak kindly.
Lift your eyes to the ordinary
and let it change you.

Because everything is sacred,
if you choose to see it that way.

Thank-you for reading.

Much Love and Light,

Brenda Marie
