Let Go of Anger
Let go of anger—set it down,
That molten crown, that thorned renown.
It served you once, it burned so bright,
A torch against the wrong, the night.
But now it smokes, and dims your view,
It cages joy, it burdens you.
It whispers still, “You must hold tight,”
But peace is found beyond the fight.
Anger says, “You’re keeping score,”
But healing asks for something more.
Not to forget, or just forgive,
But to unclench and truly live.
Let go the fire that scorched your chest,
There’s power too in gentle rest.
In walking on, not looking back,
In choosing love when skies turn black.
Your heart was never made for war—
It longs to feel, not to keep score.
So lay it down, that bitter blade,
You’ve earned the light. Step from the shade.
No need to shout, no need to prove—
Just breathe, just be, begin to move.
You are not rage, you are not pain—
You are the calm after the rain.
Thank-you for reading.
Much Love and light,
Brenda Marie
