Poem: Back to the Roots

Back to the roots, where the quiet begins,
Where time walks slowly on barefoot winds.
Where the world feels young and the heart feels old,
And stories grow wild in the soil they’re told.

Back to the roots, to the river’s bend,
To the place where beginnings and endings blend.
Where the sky leans low just to hear the earth,
And every small moment has infinite worth.

Back to the roots, where the soul recalls
The hush of the pines and the nightbird’s calls.
Where the path is rough but the air is clear,
And you meet yourself with nothing to fear.

Back to the roots—let the noise fall through,
Let the world unspin and renew its hue.
For sometimes the way to become something new
Is simply returning to what first grew.

Thank-you for reading.

Remember there are many paths back to God.

Follow your own path,

Brenda Marie
